Trademark law safeguards words, designs, symbols, or phrases used by individuals or companies to distinguish their products or services from others. Examples include word marks, logos, brand names, and slogans. Trademark owners can prevent others from using their trademark without permission if it causes confusion among consumers about the provider or affiliation of a product or service.
